I think vSide should have voice chat to also communicate with other like there.com or vmtv.

I agree 100%. This is so vague so I will give my ideas on how I could picture it on vSide. Well of course, like There and Second Life, you should be able to turn on and off your microphones. The idea of having Voice chat throughout the whole city would be hectic though. So we could add a mic range. Like a certain amount of distance from one avatar to another range. So only a certain amount of people can hear your voice. There could also be a feature like a group feature where someone can start a voice group and they can kick, mute, etc. from the group. Also, with ignore lists, whenever you have someone on ignore you can't hear their voice. If you don't wish to hear someone but you don't want to ignore them... there could even be a "Mute This Player" button when you right-click them. It would also cut down prices on shoutCAST so more people will want to go on vSide to host radio shows since it is free. For example, lets say I wanted to host a radio show at my Island. I could go into my "Rules and Description" box and hit "Broadcast To All Users" which will broadcast me and everyone who is un-muted's voice to everyone in your apartment. There could also be a feature in your "Rules and Description" box where you hit "Mute Everyone but Me" and whenever you want to un-mute a certain person you can right-click on the user and hit "un-mute" for like an interview or etc. Those are just some last minute ideals on how to make the Voice option work.

Could always join the military.. hehe
I disagree with this idea 101%. I don't want to have people screaming into a surround sound headset. Bad enough I have to listen to Audrey on skype... Kidding <3
On games like CS:S, TF2, etc. More older/mature people tend to "hit on" the justin bieber-sounding kids. Hit on as in, curse them out, constantly antagonize them, etc. People will be cursing all over the place.
Again, very bad idea IMO.

I almost think it would cause some to lag more.
Somehow I feel the same.
Also it's pretty hard to moderate voice chat.

I HATEEEEEEEEEEEE hate hate hate hate hate hate hate the idea of voice chat on vSide. If voice were to be added I would pack up and quit the second it came out
-There would be a mute option for this option if they put it on, so why would you leave just because of it....
I'm not so convinced about this. One time I was at some other Virtual world, someone came by with the Voice option on and scared the hell out of me. It was so loud I nearly had a heartattack, no joke. That could happen in vSide too. Also, if you have voice chat you can't always control what people say. I agree with what others said. It's best to use Skype/msn/whatsoever for this.
Msn voice chat sucks big time the only good thing that Ive used is skype, and you got to think that some people are not as privileged as you are :P Some people are not aloud to download a lot of things on their computer, like my cousins back in the day their computer was password protected and their parents wouldn't allow them to download anything but a few programs.
Voice option would open a lot of possibilities for vSide, like people who are hosting an event of some sort in their room, and I know a lot of you would complain about this stating " That is why we have shoutcast " Shoutcast is downright the MOST annoying thing on vSide, for people who are not computer smart and don't have money or dislike buying stuff on the internet they have to search for a free server which takes time to find one that will actually work successfully ( I Signed up for at least 6 different servers until one actually worked correctly ), then you have to download Winamp Shoutcast, Setup your shoutcast server to run on winamp and then your all set up to be able to talk on vSide and then if you want to add other people to talk you have to download skype ( or some other Voip program and get the other people to download that program ) and set up your computer to run both Microphone and Stereo mix at the same time, I my self have done it a few times and it was not worth it.
Now if everyone read my last post about a voice option, you would notice that I had it perfectly set up so everyone would be happy. I am going to briefly state everything I said that I can remember below
-Public Voice - A little visual add on above the " Music And Video " with everyone's name who is currently in voice chat with a little flashing icon will show for whoever is talking ( Which will give users the option to mute or lower the volume of that certain person ) An option where if someone is being Abusive/Annoying/Or something that some users don't like they can vote agents that person and 5-10 votes and he looses his microphone abilities for an hour or more, That way it is user moderated no need for mod/staff moderating it.
-Private Voice - User right clicks on another user and " Requests Voice Chat " and has the ability to right click on another user and " Join Voice Chat " and again with the visual add on above the Music & and video all users in the current call can be muted or have their volume lowered.
-Appt Voice- Owner of the room can set their room to " Public Voice " or " Granted Microphone " Public voice being people are free to talk, granted voice being Owner/Co-owner's have to grant users a Voice microphone for them to be able to talk.
There is no need for people to complain, because if they dislike the idea then they can Mute the voice system, just like if they don't like the music then mute it, Simple as that. You people complain so much about something that would make 98% of the users happy and get more and more users signed up for vSide( causing money flow to vSide which is good For better/frequent future updates and keeping vSide alive ) Just because you don't want to take a second of your time to push a button to stop whatever it is you don't like ( I don't mean to be harsh but it is true )
Also I noticed a post about it causing lag, they have it in most online computer/consoles games, all they would need to do to keep the lag down to a minimum is have the voice recorded then sent that would give it a few seconds delay.

I couldnt even be bothered to read any of that, I really dont understand WHAT is so great about it, if you want to go hear someone talk then take it to skype, skype has been the main source for talking to people for as long as I can remember
and on top of thaat vSide is a clubbing music based game and its hard to base music and voice at the same time
Just no theres WAY too many cons that trump over the pros. . .
I understand what you are saying but Part of what I was saying is some people are limited to what they can download ( Dew to Disk Space/Parental Control or both ) and vSide should try to get more people playing vSide not supporting Skype, most people come on to chat with users but if they get them users on skype they might get bored of vSide and just use skype instead.

A lot of this is sorta what I suggested (which isn't a bad thing), but there is only one thing I disagree with you about.
An option where if someone is being Abusive/Annoying/Or something that some users don't like they can vote agents that person and 5-10 votes and he looses his microphone abilities for an hour or more, That way it is user moderated no need for mod/staff moderating it.
That is going to cause uber problems. As we know it, the immature users are going to abuse those powers, and they are going to get their buddies to vote against people for no good reason. I think it should just go along with the "Report Abuse" button, and when the moderators get the report they can listen in on the voice chat. Get what i'm saying? Other than that... i'm all for it!

My MSN voice chats never suck. If they aren't allowed to download Skype I don't think they'd be allowed to use vSide if it had a voice chat feature. Hence we could lose users because parents don't think vSide is a place where their kids should go.

But if there are no 5-10 people who "vote" against profanity it will just stay like that. Let's say a few people insult someone and this person is the only other person around. Sure that person can walk away but as soon as someone hits you with words that are personal that's just not okay.
It would be okay for private places but definitely not in public since there are so many problems that could happen and make vSide less friendly and all. We can't risk that.
@FreeHugglez: Lmao.

Well i hope you look into it i mean there would be some diverticulitis and u could go in and fix them and if it got too out of hand you could take it away... and i really do agree on the distance and you could maybe work it where u can ask someone to join a chat group and u make a mini circle that only 8-10 people can join or maybe so if ur at a house u dont talk over everyone else. It really would be AWESOME!!!!! if you had voice chat thought!!!!
plz look into it (:

coming from the kid who i saw at a party begging people to join skype. lol. Skype does lag vside alittle, but its not too bad. There are so many vsiders, and many of us do not want to hear people screamning in our ears. I like vSide the way it is. There are tons of other places to chat with voice, keep vSide different.

That would actually be brilliant... voice could only be used in apartments, and not in public areas.
@OzzyOzman I don't see it happening, ever. I played vMTV and There.com and actively used VOIP in both games, and I definitely miss that feature, but vSiders who want to engage in voice chat have been finding other avenues to do so thus far, and it doesn't seem like there is much of a demand or necessity for that to change. Also, when I consider how obnoxious some people on the game can be at times, it's enough to completely turn me off to the idea of voice features being enabled in-world. Granted, not every user owns a microphone, but I feel that voice would create a lot of unnecessary drama and make vSide less enjoyable as a whole.
However, I think if vSide were to add a voice feature, the most effective way to do so would be to charge a monthly rate, similar to the premium membership plan from vMTV, or a one-time fee, like on There.com. People who really want voice and spend a fair amount of time on the game would probably be willing to pay a few extra dollars for voice, and maybe a few extra privileges. There could be private chat and exclusive group chat options, and voice could only be heard in public within short range, as opposed to throughout the entire venue. Users who don't want to hear could continue playing for free. Revenue brought in from the user premium cost could help pay for more improvements to the game.
Just my thoughts. I still think it's unnecessary.
